Innovative Transportation Solutions This year’s ITS Arizona Annual Conference will be held on Wednesday, September 20th and Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at the Mesa Convention Center, Building C, located at 263 N Center Street in Mesa, Arizona. As in previous years, Day One of the 2023 conference will begin with lunch and a half-day technical workshop followed by the Reception with entertainment, drinks, and appetizers. Day Two will feature technical sessions on the latest ITS planning, implementation, and research efforts. Presentations will be given by presented by public agency representatives, practitioners, planners, and researchers from Arizona and around the country. ITS Arizona is sponsoring an internship program to provide on-the-job experience and mentoring to a student aspiring to be a professional in the transportation and technology disciplines.  ITS Arizona will provide up to $5,000 in matching funds to a public agency or private firm for the purposes of subsidizing the direct hourly rate of an intern.  The funds shall not be used for fringe benefits or similar expenses. For 2023, the program will provide support for one internship position.  Once a sponsoring employer has been selected by ITS Arizona, the board will work closely with the partnering agency to select and place the intern.  Full details of the program are available for download.  Employers interested in participating should submit a letter of interest to Michelle Beckley at president@itsaz.org by Monday, May 15, 2023 (5:00 PM).

To answer it, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future that showcase their solution to a citywide sustainability issue. Past topics include stormwater management, urban agriculture, public spaces, and green energy. The 2022-2023 theme is addressing Climate Change.
