City of Peoria’s Public Works Department has an excellent opportunity for a Traffic Signal Specialist in their Traffic Signal Maintenance Division.
Will have significant, relevant education, training, skills and abilities in electrical, IT and tele-communications as well perform a wide variety of operations in the construction, programming, operations and maintenance. Successful candidates must be available for 24/7 Standby and On-call support. The position of the Traffic Signal Specialist performs a wide variety of operations in the construction, programming, operations and maintenance and repair of traffic signal equipment and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) software and street lighting equipment. The work includes operation of an overhead bucket truck, troubleshooting all signal equipment, “Blue Stake” marking of underground facilities, setup and installation of traffic signal cabinets, battery backup for signals, fiber optics, and electrical service which is accomplished with complex, computer and mapping programs, work order software, and a variety of other applications.
