On April 1st, ITS Arizona hosted a lunch meeting with students at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
ITS Arizona members Chris Lemka, Assistant City Traffic Engineer, and Steve McKenzie, ITS Engineer, both from the City of Peoria, spoke about the many ITS innovations that Peoria uses to manage their transportation network, including MaxView signal software, Gridsmart video detection, wireless detection and the InSync adaptive signal control system. ITS Arizona Board Members Scott Miller, Sanjay Paul and Michelle Beckley also attended. It was a great meeting and provided the NAU students an excellent opportunity to ask questions of practicing ITS professionals, learn more about their diverse backgrounds and discuss the future of ITS.
