You’re invited to the Technical Workshop/Luncheon hosted by ITS Arizona, featuring Dr. Alyssa Ryan from the University of Arizona. Dr. Ryan will discuss the human factor challenges associated with the science and research on the role of human factors in transportation technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Dr. Ryan will also discuss ways in which technologies can improve driver safety, including the future of autonomous and connected vehicles.

Dr. Alyssa Ryan, Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona, recently launched the University of Arizona’s first operating human factors lab with a driving simulator. This simulator includes eye-tracking equipment, many sensors, and full customization. It also includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and automated vehicle capabilities. ADAS technologies are considered crucial for achieving self-driving, and newer car models are incorporating advanced features such as front collision warning, auto-braking, blind spot warning, and lane departure avoidance in response to innovations in the ADAS field.

After Dr. Ryan’s presentation, there will be a tour of the City of Mesa’s Traffic Management Center!

Lunch and drinks will be provided!
