Town of Gilbert has an exciting job opportunity for the Assistant Town Traffic Engineer. The Assistant Town Traffic Engineer duties include reviewing traffic engineering or transportation elements of development site plans, CIP roadway improvement plans, signing and striping plans and traffic signal plans.  Identify issues and provide technical guidance and recommendations to engineers, architects, developers and Town staff.  Reviews traffic impact studies for new developments and various other studies related to traffic safety and traffic operations. Provides comments, reviews findings, and prepares recommendation for infrastructure planning needed for traffic signals or capacity addition and other traffic related mitigations. AZ ITE / ITS AZ 2019 Holiday Party

We invite you to join us and celebrate the holiday season at the 2019 AZ ITE/ITS AZ Holiday Party! This year, our party will be hosted at the ACEC Arizona office on Thursday, December 5th from 6 to 9 p.m. We invite you and a guest to attend the hosted dinner and Murder Mystery Show and catch up with other members from Arizona ITE and ITS Arizona. A cash bar will be available.    The holiday party is  jointly sponsored by Arizona ITE and ITS Arizona. In lieu of a registration fee, we ask that you contribute to our group donation to Hospice of the Valley. This organization provides hospice and palliative care to those at the later stages of life, regardless of insurance or financial means. Hospice of the Valley is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.   Please register early as space is limited to 60 attendees. 2019 ITS AZ Conference Connected Vehicle Live Demo

The ITS Arizona Annual Conference is almost here!! Don't forget to register before September 1 to secure the early bird registration fees. As part of Day 1 of the conference, Traffic Technology Services in cooperation with City of Mesa will host a Connected Vehicle live demonstration.  In 2016, Audi launched the first connected vehicle application through their connectivity service, Audi connect.  Traffic Technology Services is the information service provider for the Audi system, providing technology that predicts traffic signal control operations.  Participants will experience the first applications: Time-To-Green and Green Light Optimized Speed Advisory.           Participants will drive around the convention center to experience the connected vehicle applications developed by Volkswagen and Audi. ​The entire demonstration will take 15-20 minutes total to drive through signalized intersections, experience the system, and discuss the...

City of Phoenix has two exciting career opportunities in their Street Transportation Department. The two positions are in the Traffic Services Division, one in the Arterial Systems Management Section and one in the Traffic Operations Section. The Traffic Engineer II – Light-Rail Operations will assist the TMC Supervisor and the Traffic Engineer III in managing and maintaining the City’s LRT system’s operation and be involved in the Traffic Management Center’s day to day operations and special events.  The Traffic Engineer II – Neighborhood Traffic Mitigation Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Neighborhood Traffic Mitigation program which includes full responsibility for the speed hump/cushion program and its associated budget. ITS Arizona Internship Program

Each year, ITS Arizona sponsors an internship opportunity with a local agency or consultant. Our newest ITS Arizona Intern is Ioana Popovici, who is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University, planning to graduate in December 2020. Ioana will be working with the City of Tempe’s Transportation Division and currently holds a position as a lead high school mentor with ASU’s Engineering Projects In Community Service (EPICS). Ioana is also a teacher’s assistant for ASU’s Introduction to Civil Engineering course and plans on earning a Master’s in both Structural and Transportation engineering with an end goal of highway design. Ioana is passionate about everything surrounding transportation engineering and traffic solutions in Arizona and is very excited to be a part of the ITS Arizona team.
